Jeremiah 29:11-13 "'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the Lord,'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."
We are often busy. Busyness in our culture is like a merit badge. The strongest woman is the one who is the busiest and can still hold everything together, or at least appear to... Often the first thing to go is our quiet time with God. The God who knows everything about us and still loves us unconditionally gets pushed to the back burner. The God who is our counselor, redeemer, savior, comforter, and the best possible friend we could ever have is the one we run to the least. God has been working on my heart to spend more time with Him. I desire to spend time with God but often I make choices to do other things like watch TV in the evenings or sleep a little longer in the morning. I know that I need to spend time with God. I don't mean that it is a requirement or legalistic commitment. I physically NEED time with God. There are physical benefits that come from constant connection with our creator. God offers us peace and joy when we are in fellowship with Him. A relationship with God is a natural anti-anxiety remedy. Prayer and spending time reading God's word maybe the only time you allow yourself to sit still in peace and quiet. We were created to have a relationship with God and with a need for the peace only He can offer. Give it a try, put God first and see what He does in your life! Philippians 4:6-7 says "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

This is great, Julie! I'm excited that you've started this. And about this post, I'm right there with ya. I can tell when I've pushed God aside cause I get so cranky! I just can't live a day without Him.
